I am the team leader of the in-development software to Itajai's port responsible for track the entrance of the courtyard where the containers are stored temporarily before go to the ship or hit the road to all over the country.
Built in Qt with a local storage using SQLite, that is periodically synchronized with a cloud environment, the solution has multiple layers. On the basic set, the solution uses two cameras to take pictures from plate and container, those pictures are sent to the software that extract the characters. This is just a simple resume from a very complex process.
It is really awesome integrate hardware and software and see the results that can be achieved, seems like magic see the trucks crossing the gate and the plate and containers popping up at the screen. It is for sure one of the projects that I am most proud to be part of.
Here you can find some nice comments from colleagues I have been working close across the years.
Guilherme is not only a very carefully and fast learning software engineer. Besides being able to adopt very quickly to new software components, languages, and patterns, he was also an outstanding team colleague. His sharp mind, gentleness and willing to always improve make Guilherme a very valuable team member. I would be very proud if I had the chance to work with him again.
For the past five years, I have been working with Guilherme. Since then, I have gotten to know Guilherme quite well and can thoroughly vouch for his character, professionalism and technical abilities. I have worked with him on close to 15 different IT projects, and I have been constantly impressed with both his technical skills and performance in our field.
